An interesting article on the Shan Zhai in China, and the relevance of their "business model" for micro-manufacturing and rapid, small scale production targetted at local or very specific needs. This is an excellent exploration of the opportunities that exist today for small startups, and a business model that can be both sustainable and 'realistic' in almost any context.
